  9.         PRT-Menu (C) 1993:  PRT-Menu is a printer menu program which allows
  10.         you to access various features of your printer:
  11.  
  12.                                 Color Selection,
  13.                                 Character Font,
  14.                                 Character Highlight,
  15.                                 Character Pitch,
  16.                                 Word Processing,
  17.                                 Paper Feed,
  18.                                 Paper Feed (amount),
  19.                                 Page Format,

  21.         through software control rather than a printer operator panel.

  23.     Your printer is driven by "escape sequences" and control codes 
  24.         consisting of different ASCII characters.  One way to control
  25.         your printer is using a batch file or language program to issue
  26.         these commands.  PRT-Menu eliminates the need for such programs
  27.         and provides a fast and convenient way of interfacing you with
  28.         your printer.

  30.         PRT-Menu makes it easy for you to combine character fonts with
  31.         various character pitches and character highlights; set your
  32.         margins and page length, while integrating the word processing
  33.         functions.  If you use a text editor, you will appreciate the
  34.         "text and formatting" finish you can add to your documents.

  36.         Using PRT-Menu, you can set the margins, page length, and fonts
  37.         for mailing labels without using special label software.
  38.  
  39.         It is quick and easy to run the PRT-Menu; select the features you
  40.         want your printer to initialize; exit the program and print your
  41.         document, labels etc.

  43.         Virtually any Epson Compatible Printer can use PRT-Menu.  In
  44.         particular, the Panasonic (KXP Series), and all Epson LQ-860
  45.         Compatibles, as well as other compatibles.

  47.         PRT-Menu has the following requirements:

  49.                   .  IBM PC, XT, AT or 100% compatible                                                       computer
  50.                   .  DOS 2.0+ or later
  51.                   .  Microsoft Compatible Mouse
  52.                   .  VGA and color monitor
  53.                   .  Epson Compatible Dot Matrix Printer

  55.      INSTALLATION
  56.  
  57.         For hard drive users, either copy all the files from the
  58.         PRT-Menu Disk to any directory on your hard drive, or create
  59.         a directory named PRT-MENU as follows:

  61.                            C:\>MD PRT-MENU
  62.                            C:\>COPY A:*.* \PRT-MENU
  63.  
  64.         All files must be located in the same directory.  The directory
  65.         should be included in the PATH Statement of your AUTOEXEC.BAT
  66.         File.  This allows you to run PRT-Menu from any directory on
  67.         your hard disk.  Refer to your DOS manual for details on the
  68.         PATH Statement.  Floppy drive users can execute the program
  69.         from the PRT-Menu Diskette.
